Delegate Israel O’Quinn Receives Distinguished Advocate for Virginia Business Award

On Friday, August 3, 2012, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce presented Delegate Israel O’Quinn the Distinguished Advocate for Virginia Business Award in recognition of the State Chamber awarding him an “A” Rating on their Legislative Report Card.  "The Virginia Chamber's Legislative Report Card allows us to recognize and honor legislators who uphold free market principles and support the interests of the business community," said Ryan Dunn, Vice President of Government Relations at the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.  "Delegate O'Quinn is committed to ensuring that Virginia remains one of the top states for business.  He understands that in order to expand and attract new jobs, the Commonwealth must remain competitive.  For his support, we proudly present Delegate O'Quinn with The Distinguished Advocate for Virginia Business Award to honor his "A" Voting Record in the 2012 General Assembly."  Ryan Dunn presented the award at the Bristol Chamber of Commerce’s First Friday Business Briefing.

"I'm honored to receive an ‘A’ rating from the Virginia Chamber of Commerce” said Delegate O’Quinn on this award.  “I've fought for Southwest Virginia businesses because it's business, and not government, that creates jobs. Our local business owners work jar everyday to build their companies and it's an honor to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them."

The Virginia Chamber of Commerce is the state’s largest business advocacy organization with more than 13,000 members.

Delegate Israel O'Quinn represents the Fifth House District, which is comprised of the Cities of Bristol and Galax, Grayson County and parts of Smyth and Washington Counties.
